Ms. Marsh cites using data and a humanistic approach to her leadership as the key to her 30 years of success in the field. She began her career in education as a certified elementary school teacher and grant writer in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her first teaching post was delivering high-quality instruction to low-performing students in the Saint Bernard area and improving their opportunities for success.
Ms. Marsh then served as a school leader in New Orleans Public Schools. Following Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Marsh became an Executive Director with the Louisiana Recovery School District. She supported the Superintendent by supervising direct run and newly opened charter schools in Greater New Orleans and across Louisiana. She then led a cohort of 15 schools in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as the Executive Director for the Office of Innovation and Reform, 14 of which made it out of Academically Unacceptable Statue (AUS) within two school years.
As CEO, Ms. Marsh believes every student and employee deserves high-quality leaders, and those leaders deserve the training, support, coaching, tools, and resources to succeed.
